The Story of Dosa Delish:

Festival Food with Soul

Winter in the Scenic Rim means the “Eat Local Month” that runs all of June.

A month long celebration of the freshest, most delicious food that the Scenic Rim has to offer.

At Dosa Delish, we serve delicious South Indian masala dosa, cooked fresh to order. Crispy and flavourful, our dosas are the kind of street food that makes people stop, savour, and come back for more.

How Dosa Delish Began

Like many great discoveries, Dosa Delish started almost by accident.

Murray was invited to give a demonstration on how to make dosas at the newly created Fermented Food Festival. Someone suggested that we should sell some Dosa too, so we did.

To our surprise and delight, we sold out! People couldn’t seem to get enough. The fact that our dosas are gluten free, vegan and outrageously delicious made them an instant hit.

That was the moment Dosa Delish was born.

Dosa Delish is a family affair. Murray the Dosa man, Vicky on the front line and daughter Grace covering everything in between. We are so grateful to be able to work together.

Finding Our Niche

Because our masala dosas are:

• Gluten-free

• Dairy-free

• Vegan

• Made from naturally fermented batter and locally sourced produce wherever possible

they cater to many who would otherwise have limited options at festivals or markets. For this reason we have a very loyal and grateful clientele.

What Makes a Dosa Special?

It’s the perfect combination of crispy, savoury, sweet, zingy and satisfying that makes Dosas such a treat.

Spicy potato masala served inside a crispy Dosa pancake with a side of punchy sambar dhal,  zingy coconut chutney and a colourful kachumber salad.

Golden Chai and yummy gluten free desserts round out the feast.

It’s traditional South Indian street food perfectly at home at a winter festival in the Scenic Rim.

At Dosa Delish, one of our mottos is:

“Good for your health and your tastebuds.”

We believe festival food can be both delicious and nourishing. Fermented foods have been part of traditional diets for centuries, and dosas are a perfect example of how simple ingredients can transform into something truly delicious.
